恩施大峡谷旅游景区位于湖北省恩施市屯堡乡和板桥镇境内，地处湘、渝、鄂三省交界处，是清江流域最美丽的一段，被专家赞誉可与美国科罗拉多大峡谷媲美。峡谷全长108千米，面积达3000平方千米。

历史沿革

母系社会时期，为盐水女神领地，后被廪君打败，属于廪君的统治。

5千万年前，形云龙地缝，从地缝顶部到地缝底部的地层主要为形成于2.1－2.9亿年间、跨二迭与三迭纪的灰岩。

恩施大峡谷

1949年11月6日，恩施解放，翌日成立恩施县人民政府。

1982年4月30日，原县城及郊区168平方千米范围成立恩施市，实行县市分治。

1984年1月，撤销恩施县，将其行政区域全部并入恩施市。50多年以来，恩施市（县）一直是恩施专署、恩施地区行署驻地和恩施土家族苗族自治州首府。

2007年10月，建造绝壁长廊，又叫“绝壁栈道”，全长488米，118个台阶。

由湖北恩施生态文化旅游发展有限公司投资建设山水实景音乐剧场，总投资2.06亿元，占地面积240多亩，总建筑面积4.9万平方米，是世界上最大的峡谷实景剧场，山水实景音乐剧《龙船调》。

2012年，恩施大峡谷启动创建国家5A景区。[2]
